Candidate Testing & Screening
At Search Recruitment, we include a thorough CV evaluation, screening, interview and skills testing process, to make sure the candidates we offer for a vacancy are the best people for the job.
When we receive a CV, we check each candidate's work and education dates, and investigate any time gaps or frequent changes of employment. We then check the candidate's right to work in the UK, scrutinise their passport, and take a copy for identity purposes. If required, candidates are notified of the legal requirements for working in the UK, and if their status is in any doubt, we do not put forward these candidates until proof of the right to work is produced. Candidate interviews are conducted either face to face or over the telephone. Our team of Recruitment Consultants take time to talk through the candidate's CV, including their:
Education and qualifications, taking copies of certificates where required
Work history and any employment gaps
Reasons for leaving previous jobs
Strengths and weaknesses
Skills, including any informal or vocational training
Goals and ambitions
Date they can start work and availability for interviews
Current/previous or anticipated salary/package
Candidate CRB Checks and Security Clearance
Successful candidates must sign a document confirming if they do or do not have a criminal record. We also find out if they have any military security clearance levels, and will organise CRB checks if required. Driving Licenses and Birth Certificates are also checked alongside passports as proof of candidate's eligibility to work in the UK.
Search Recruitment Candidate Testing: IT Skills
If appropriate for their skills and job aspirations, all candidates undergo an IT skills test, to assess their competency on a range of standard software and computer tasks.
Search Recruitment can formulate and carry out tests on candidates to assess their suitability, and to give you more information at the second interview stage. We also offer psychometric testing for all your current staff, an invaluable exercise in reassessing skills and relationships within the workplace
